Centre’s 3-phase plan to ward off the virus

A 100% centrally-funded 5-yr scheme to strengthen healthcare systems has been approved by the government. The package will be implemented in three phases – from January 2020 to June 2020, from July 2020 to March 2021 and from April 2021 to March 2024. However, the outlay has yet to be specified.

Meanwhile, a 3-phase, 100% centrally-funded 5-yr scheme to strengthen India’s healthcare system has been approved by the government.

On a global note, the world economy may be looking at a $5 trillion hit because of the pandemic, which is like losing Japan, a Citigroup report has said.
